Ning is starting to charge for their service. Is there enough interest to keep this site going? There may be other alternatives, like a Yahoo email group, that would serve the same purpose and be free.

We are about to get a Sprouts Farmers Market in Thousand Oaks at the old Circuit City across from The Oaks Mall just off the 101 @ Lynn.

Their website looks interesting enough to make me what to give it a try. Maybe Trader Joe's is gonna have some competition.

I discovered that Swiss Chard grows really well in my backyard before I knew of a way to prepare it. Necessity being the mother of invention I have tried several methods and settled on Braised Swiss Chard with Cilantro as the best. Send me a note if you'd like a copy of the recipe. I'd like to see your favorite recipes for produce that readily grows in a Ventura County backyard, too. I will gather them together and post a list on this site. Bon Appetit!

Looks like we're at about 27-30 RSVPs for this sunday. I've also received quite a few "i'm working that day but totally interested" emails, so that is really good! of course, i'd love to see 50 or 100 people there, but i don't have enough chairs.



Speaking of chairs, I have about 19 at work. I'm bringing about 5 from Ojai (Kris, that would be the white plastic ones and a couple from Laine's office), and Rachel Morris is bringing 5. So that puts us at 29 chairs.
